The quilted journey across Canada continues eastward with Saskatchewan! What I remember most from visiting the province (as a teenager) was the vast flatness, and the blustering wind. And the far-off farms popping up, notches of houses and barns and trees interrupting the level horizon.

My favourite part of this panel: the lines. I was ready to rip and replace the yellow field (how doubtful i can be!), until the perspective lines were stitched in and it came alive with depth and distance. The trees are applique, which I’m not too keen on yet. (it’s growing on me, and i’m sure there will be more in my future. all experiments are good practice!)

  1. THAT is spectacular! It’s perfect from my memories too of motorcycling those roads.
