Recently I bought a walking foot for my sewing machine. Last night I tested it out. I like this blueprint idea – I’ll definitely do more. It’s a fun exercise in precision and structure. (and a lesson in ironing. i didn’t press after. linen needs it!)

Last night I was talking to a friend who is on the verge of that life space where one is only creative when obligated or paid. I see other people in my life fall into this space, and it’s heartbreaking, that loss of what was so enjoyed, what brought pleasure and excitement in the process of doing. I hope this friend does not tip over the edge into the pit of bitterness. I heed the reminder to always do for the pleasure of doing, experiment for the joy of the unknown result. Play.
