I have a confession to make: I’m addicted to tiny bits and tiny blocks. In the last batch of star blocks, I made 4 tiny ones, thinking “that should be enough, they’re probably too small.” Not too small! Not enough of them! They’re just so… cute. And they use up scraps. And I don’t mind so much that I routinely scald my fingers trying to iron them… because they’re just so cute!

The most challenging thing about these is keeping seams consistent – skewing even 1/16” or less on the half-square-triangles makes a difference. Several had to be picked apart and straightened because a crooked seam threw the whole thing way out of whack. Not such a problem on larger blocks, but does it ever become noticeable when the pieces being sewn are 1” or smaller!

Anyway. On with the assembly! I can’t wait to see how these tiny twinklers fit with the other blocks. They’ll populate the star field quite nicely.
