Let me introduce you to the most calm and intentional quilt I’ve made to date: Coastal Winter. It’s for someone dear to me, whose style and decor is very nautical and serene, and who is not accustomed yet to the damp, cold-to-the-bones coastal winter of Vancouver. (so it’s filled  with 100% wool batting. cozy!)

I find it very interesting, intentionally making a quilt for someone. Capturing something about the person and their life. This was so straight forward and enjoyable to make, because I knew precisely what it was going to be – white, sea glass, jade, sand, surf, sky, driftwood, calm, airy, orderly, peaceful. A tribute to my friend of 17 years.

And now, to design the quilting…
