City street, from upon the city wall.

Xi’an charmed me like no other city I visited in China. I would live there, for a while. It felt more real and honest than other cities; there wasn’t the facade of glossy capitalism obscuring the fact that Chinese people are still very connected to their ancient culture. In Xi’an, the culture and history are very present and honoured, and I liked that a lot. Even though I was there for only a couple days, I miss this place. It has a piece of my heart. (and stomach – the food here was incredible!)
